Transforming the stylistic idea into a perfectly conceived product, based on the processes and techniques of the modern clothing industry, then declined in a sustainable way.
Starting from this principle, the two Secoli outfits in competition were conceived, designed and created, during the first Freudenberg - Fashion Sustainability 2018 contest, aimed at the European fashion and design schools, scheduled for September 13th in Verona.
In the splendid setting of Piazza Bra, an international Jury composed of experts, opinion leaders, as well as leading figures in the sector, will select the most sustainable projects for each of the three categories: innovation, technology and design; for each winner a prize of 2,000 euros is required. The two dresses, created by the students Enrica De Santis and Alessandra Burti, are born with the idea of reflecting on environmental issues, inspired by the increasingly urgent demand for eco-friendly solutions, also in the fashion sector. The materials used are natural and recyclable; the concept is inspired by the vital relationship existing between the subject, the environment and its condition; the body, supported by the elements of the sign and color, conforms to the surrounding context.
Good luck to Enrica and Alessandra from all the Secoli staff!
