Anna Colucci teaches CAD Pattern making. She made various working experiences in fashion brands located in the Milan’s area. For twenty years she’s been in charge of the CAD department of Iris s.r.l. with headquarters in Legnano. She graduated from Istituto Secoli where she has been teaching since 2010.

"I have always liked the idea of passing on my experience to new generations and being a point of reference for them. Young people are the lymph of the future in the world of fashion, and what I wish for all of them is certainly a brilliant career in the industry that they love so much. The relationship with them is stimulating and calls into question. It is extraordinary to work in a young environment, with students from different cultures ”.

Arianna Sometti has been teaching CAD Patternmaking in both menswear and womenswear courses since 2013. She graduated from the Politecnico di Milano in Fashion Design and Industrial Design and later specialised in Womenswear Patternmaking and Fashion Design at Istituto Secoli. Alongside teaching, she collaborates as a CAD patternmaker with fashion brands operating both in Italy and abroad.

"It is great to teach young people by passing on to them, with passion and enthusiasm, knowledge and skills of the trade. Teaching requires great patience and open-mindedness, but at the same time it can be very satisfying”.

Caterina Di Giacomo is Faculty Operational Director and Professor for Women's wear Patternmaking at Istituto Secoli. She has had a long experience both as freelance and in-company pattern maker. She teaches blocks making, pattern making and size grading for Women's wear. She graduated at Istituto Secoli where she has been teaching since 2008.

"I love teaching and transfer to students my own knowledge and above all the passion for this job. With students we always establish a family relationship useful to know their stories, their dreams and the right motivation that bring them to enroll in our Institute. I think that’s a great added value, together with technique and top level design preparation for that our Institute is recognized worldwide".

Domenico Civita graduated in Fashion Sciences and Technologies at the University of Bari and specialised at Istituto Secoli where, since 2013 he has been teaching Fashion Design for both menswear and women’s wear courses. His expertise covers subjects as: study of the figure, history of costume and fashion, fashion design techniques, science and technology of textile materials, trend forecast and collection development.

Mariangela Conidi graduated at Istituto Secoli and after 10 years of experience as freelance patternmaker, in 2000 she joined our faculty staff and since then she is lecturer of Patternmaking Women’s wear.

"I love teaching and I love dealing with young students. My main task and aim is scouting their talents and help to bring them to light. Here at Istituto Secoli we do not only teach a method but we take care of our students’ professional growth: that’s what make the difference of our Institute!

Enrica Vallone is lecturer of Fashion Design - Collection Development - Fashion Project Communication and she has been teaching at Istituto Secoli since 2015. She has years of experience as a designer of women's wear and currently works as consultant for some fashion companies.

Federica Caputo is lecturer of Patternmaking Menswear and Women’s wear. After graduating from Istituto Secoli she worked as patternmaker for several fashion companies based in Milan. She has been teaching at our school since 2007.

"It's nice to work in a creative environment where you can express yourself, your personality. I like the human dimension of teaching and being a tool for the realization of students’ dreams ".

Gaetano Currò is lecturer of Patternmaking Menswear and Women’s wear. After his graduation at Istituto Secoli, he held several training consulting activities at patternmaker departments of some important fashion brands, like Giorgio Armani. He teaches at our school since 1998.

“The first thing I would like to transfer to our students is the love we have for teaching. Here at Istituto Secoli, besides learning the theoretical techniques, students are involved in practical works that help them breaking down boundaries, even the linguistic ones, and learning how to concretely make fashion”.

Mario Argentieri teaches Patternmaking for both Menswear and Women's wear. He began his career as a tailor and gained experiences in Sportswear brands. In the past 30 years he has been Chief Patternmaker for several fashion brands, some of which are: Gianni Versace and Dolce & Gabbana. He studied at Istituto Secoli and since 2016 he has been teaching for our School.

Memena Pallini is a teacher of sewing and prototyping in the courses of women's wear and men's wear. She has gained a long experience as a sampler and seamstress for fashion shows in companies in the fashion sector including Erreuno and Prada SPA.

He has been teaching at Istituto Secoli since 2016.

“It's nice to see young people go back to quality manual work. My heart opens when I see a tailored jacket made by a young student. I like teaching about the transmission of knowledge to new generations, after all the years spent in the company. "

Alice Molteni is a teacher in CAD pattern design. She has gained work experience as a pattern maker into Italian companies in the fashion industry, including Paul & Shark for men's and children's lines. She specialized at Istituto Secoli where she has been teaching since 2011.

"It is beautiful the relationship that the Institute establishes with students and the possibility to bring them the knowledge gained over the years. I love teaching and it is surprising to see tstudents’ growth, sometimes extraordinary, during the course of studies ”.

Domenico Puzziferri is a teacher of Patternmaking Menswear, Women's wear and Furriery. He played the role of patternmaker and cutter of fur garments for various companies in the fashion sector. He graduated from Istituto Secoli where he has been teaching since 1994.

"Every day at the Istituto Secoli is new, the work with the kids is engaging and never repetitive. Here we teach concretely starting from the pattern and getting to the finished garment. The relationship that is created between teacher and student is something special, we teachers manage to establish a real relationship with the students and leave a lasting mark ".

Cinzia Ravicini teaches Fashion Design, Merceology and History of Costume for the courses of women's wear and menswear. He gained experience in various style offices and as a consultant for companies in the fashion sector. She graduated at Istituto Secoli where she teaches since 2008.

"Teaching at the Istituto Secoli means having fun learning a lot from the creative spontaneity of the children. Here the students learn a profession at 360 degrees, they learn to manage and channel their creativity, to work in a team and above all to bring out their modus, their style ".

Rosa Licata teaches Sewing and Prototyping, for Women's wear, Menwear and children's wear. He worked for many years as a prototypist and sampler for Italian fashion brands and as Premier for the tailoring of tailored garments in some Milanese high fashion companies. He has been teaching at the Istituto Secoli since 2007.

"Teaching at Istituto Secoli means transmitting to the students the passion for a fabric that takes shape, and" life "and, if we think about high fashion, it becomes a unique creation for the wearer. Here we make the students understand that what they can draw they can actually achieve, this is important! ".

Simona Borghesan is a clothing and accessorizes patternmaking teacher. She has worked as a patternmaker and dressmaker in some Italian fashion companies. She graduated from Istituto Secoli where she has been teaching since 2010.

"Studying at Istituto Secoli gives a unique method and precision at work. Here we teach knowledge and skills that enable the student to “make” fashion, from a creative and manufacture point of view. I never thought I'd teach in my life, but what the students give you in exchange for your work is priceless. Stefania Paganotto is lecturer of Patternmaking Women’s wear, Lingerie, Children’s wear and Prototyping. She graduated at Istituto Secoli and started teaching here in 2004.

Giorgio Secoli is Director of Fashion Industry Education and Professor in Corporate Knowledge Transfer. He is a third-generation member of the family who founded and led the instituto since its very beginning, and became a Board member in 2009. He is part of the Management Consulting Unit of the institute as a consultant and trainer: taking part in the design, prototype and production phases and offering training services for many leading companies in the fashion industry. Giorgio Secoli is an expert in knowledge transfer techniques, with a particular focus on the manufacturing industry. He is a regular guest during events and seminars on italian fashion and training, held by national and international universities.

Maria Alessandra Chiodaroli is a Women’s wear Pattern making teacher.. After completing her studies, she worked freelance as a patternmaker and designer for a woman's dress and wedding dress. She graduated at the Istituto Secoli where she has been teaching since 2015.

"What I like most about my teaching profession is the possibility of having constant contact with people of different ages and cultures, with constant exchanges of knowledge and different points of view. The love for this work has been transmitted to me by my teachers when I was a student and I try to do the same, every day, with the students I meet."

Luigi Beretta holds specialization courses in Underwear Patternmaking and Wedding Dress. After experiences gained as consultant and stylist for established international brands and fashion designers, in 1988 he inaugurated the Atelier Beretta where he custom-made evening, ceremonial and wedding dresses and creates collections for companies that deal with knitwear and luxury pret a porter. He studied at Istituto Secoli where he has been teaching since 2014.

"I find it important to convey to young people what" little "that has been learned from their work, I say" little "because you never stop learning. Being able to convey their passion, sense of taste and what I learned during my professional career is not only a pleasure for me, but a real honor. "

Sarah Cristina is a teacher of Women's wear and Underwear Patternmaking. At the end of his studies he worked as a patternmaker both in the company and as a freelance. Currently she teaches alongside the work of underwear patternmaker and swimsuit in the company. She graduated at Istituto Secoli where she teaches since 2013.

“Teaching is a demanding path and involves teamwork; every day provides new stimuli and it is these stimuli that lead me to want to improve and grow, year after year, in my role as a teacher. "

Francesco Baldassarre is a professor of disciplines related to graphic design. Since 2006 he has been working as a freelance as a graphic-illustrator and colorist. In the past he has worked in important realities of the graphic world in the role of photolithist, advertiser and printer. He has been a member of Istituto Secoli since 2019.

"It was a pleasant surprise to move from the world of illustration to fashion. Curiosity and the desire to learn that students transmit to us as teachers every day gives us a healthy enthusiasm that then turns into concrete and stimulating ideas. I find it wonderful to teach by approaching their world. "

Giuseppe Mirici is a teacher in men's tailoring. His career began in Milan, at the age of 18 working as a tailor at the most prestigious tailors in the city. The experience gained led him to inaugurate in 1976 the "Sartoria Mirici Cappa", today one of the most renowned ateliers in the Lombard capital where tailor-made men's clothing is created. Along his professional career he has received the "GOLD NEEDLE" and "GOLD MEDAL" awards, recognitions that attest to his skills and abilities. He has been teaching at the Institute since 2019.

"Teaching is important and this teaching experience at the Institute is new to me. At Secoli I can say that I am handing down the real craftsmanship to young students and it is essential to do so in order not to lose all the knowledge and skills that my "master tailors", over the years, have taught me and my colleagues: you must learn to sew by hand, with needle and thimble, doing it with passion. The greatest pride? Seeing that students follow me with enthusiasm, they are passionate, they are always attentive and interested. "

Angelo Di Cristofaro is a teacher of Fashion Design, Textile Merceology, History of Costume for courses in women's and men's clothing. Graduated in fashion design from the Istituto Marangoni and subsequently he graduated from the Istituto Secoli in patternmaking menswear, he has been teaching at the Institute since 2016.

"Teaching does not only mean transmitting a passion, a job, but 101% commitment to the people in front of you, young or adult, unprepared or experienced who are, transferring your knowledge and ideas to them, and above all educating them that will come later. I am truly grateful to all the students I have had and have the pleasure of teaching, for what they are in turn capable of transmitting to me and there is no greater pride than seeing this feeling returned. Elena Saldakeeva sewing teacher for women'swear, lingerie and menswear. After getting a degree in Economy and a specialization in Bespoke Tailoring. Elena has worked as sewing director for many important companies and atelier in Russia - her motherland. She has created lingerie, sportswear, lightweight garments, as well as outwear collections and capsule collections. During her time in fashion companies, Elena has also provided training courses and updating courses for the production managers on subjects such as the innovative methods of sewing. She graduated at Istituto Secoli, where she has been teaching since 2016.

Ornella Bignami, teacher of the Master in Knitting. Trained to analyse the main trends and social changes, Ornella has acquired a strong credibility and expertise through her experience in the international textile and fashion industry. Since 1979, she has been enthusiastically collaborating at Elementi Moda, consulting company in Milan. She has a long experience in the knitting department: she has created knitted collections and prototypes for the knitting mills. Ornella has extensively collaborated with SHIMA SEIKI, electronic knitting machines manufacturer, gaining experience in the usage of most advanced technologies. She has also worked at Pitti Filati for the reaserach and development of creative crafts. She is a member of renowned international groups for trend forecasting. Ornella offers training courses for textile and fashion companies and Institutes, on topics related to innovation and sustainability.

Danilo Migliorini is Fashion Manufacturing Senior Advisor and Professor in Business Organization. He also is head of the consulting activities and Director of Education in the Management and Processes Department at Istituto Secoli. Danilo Migliorini has led over 200 business consulting projects in fashion companies around the world. He is a renowned expert in manufacturing industry management.

Chiara Panfili teaches English, French, Russian and Italian for foreigners.

She provides courses targeted on adult learners, professionals and companies. She also organises preparatory courses for international certifications. She received a Bachelor Degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures and a Master Degree in Translation from the University of Turin. Her dissertation, the first full translation about the Nuremberg Trials from Russian into Italian, was published by Aracne Editrice in 2013. She has been teaching at Istituto Secoli since 2022, where she is in charge of English courses for the Fashion Industry.

“Mastering a foreign language leads to appreciate places, cultures and people who live in those contexts. I love my job for the empathic opportunities it creates and I think passion is crucial if you want to communicate your knowledge naturally and effectively: studying can actually be fun! But we can’t forget that learning is also hard work: work hard, have fun and you will improve!”

Cecilia Cornaggia is a Sociology of Fashion teacher. Graduated in Psychology for Organizations at the Catholic University of Milan in 2017, she is currently a PhD candidate in Sociology, Organizations and Cultures at the same university, where she cooperates with the research Center for the study of Fashion and Cultural Production (ModaCult). She has been teaching at Istituto Secoli since 2022.

“I truly enjoy teaching because it creates room for confrontation. On the one hand, students have the opportunity to deal with the theories that sociology has built up over the centuries, on the other hand I also keep on learning through the students' points of view and theirs questions."

Gian Mario Borney started teaching fashion economics and marketing at Istituto Secoli in 2022. Since the completion of his business studies at Bocconi University with a specialization in International Marketing, his career has always remained focused on the textile, fashion and luxury Industry at an international level. He has alternated significant strategic consulting experiences, teaching positions for important institutions and executive roles for industry leaders. By working for both American and Italian prestigious strategic consulting companies he had the opportunity to contribute to many important projects for leading brands, large groups and retailers. To date, he has a considerable wealth of experiences and knowledge, all integrated into a peculiar global strategic perspective on the macro and micro dynamics of this complex and constantly evolving industry. He is co-author of the book published in July 2021 by Bocconi Press "The Branded Supply Chain" which addresses the innovative issue of sustainability as an opportunity for generating brand value.

"Teaching represents for me a joyful opportunity to share my experiences and perspectives with the talents of the future. My ambition is to help them contextualize the complex transformations taking place in this industry and its markets, trying to transfer them, at the same time, the passion and curiosity still driving me after many years of professional activity."

Claudio Colleoni is a teacher of Materials Sciences and Technologies.

He graduated in Management Engineering with a textile curriculum at the University of Bergamo where he also obtained a PhD, thanks to his thesis work about innovative textile finishes. At the same university he is one of the founders of a Spin-off within which he deals with research and development activities in the chemical and textile sector. Along his professional career he has been actively involved in the drafting, development and management of numerous research projects. He has skills in textile chemistry, finishing and colorimetry on textile materials of natural, artificial and synthetic origin. He is currently a reviewer for several scientific journals, for which he also wrote over 70 articles as an author or co-author. He has been teaching at Istituto Secoli since 2022.

“Teaching means sharing one's knowledge and professional experiences, allowing the students to place small but important bricks along their path. The young people I teach are always very intrigued by the presentation of the new materials and finishes emerging in the textile sector today; their enthusiasm also shines through during the visits organized to top-class companies; these are very important moments for them, because they really have the opportunity to understand and deal with the subject.”

Giordana Taggiasco works as an HR Consultant and Professional Coach (PCC) in companies, universities and management consulting businesses. She graduated in Business Economics at L. Bocconi in Milan and she holds the position of Professor of Business Organization at the same University, within the Leadership Organization and Human Resources Area (SDA Bocconi) and the Department of Management and Technology (Commercial University L. Bocconi). During her professional career she offered her expertise for several and important publications on issues related to the world of Management and Business Organization. She has been teaching at Istituto Secoli since 2005 subjects related to the Business Organization field with regard to the fashion system.

“What makes my teaching job special? Witnessing the birth of a spark in the eyes of those who listen, and watch it as it turns into new ideas and new ways of doing things."

Chiara Recla is a teacher of Sewing and Dressmaking Laboratory. After graduating in Architecture at Politecnico di Milano, she began her training in the field of fashion by attending a course in NABA and then graduating at Istituto Secoli. After completing her studies, she worked for several years in the tailoring department of the Italian fashion brand Prada, dealing with the realization of garments for the fashion shows, custom orders made by the company for many celebrities and the realization of prototypes (from the first canvas to the fitting of the final garment).  Later she decided to return to Istituto Secoli and devote herself to teaching.

"Working in a school environment that is always evolving and open to new projects reflects my way of being; I am fascinated to be able to pass on to young students the technical skills I have acquired during my studies and my work experience, I am also encouraged to share with them my passion for designing and creating clothes."

Miriam Cozzi has been teaching Embroidery Techniques at Istituto Secoli since 2022. A graduate in Geological Sciences in Milan, after working as an environmental project manager for over 15 years in Italy and abroad, in 2015 she decided to change her life and fulfil her desire, to specialise in hand embroidery techniques, both traditional and contemporary, 'needlework' and 'crochet' (classic and Luneville). Today, she works as a consultant, teacher and embroiderer.

"Teaching ‘hand embroidery techniques for haute couture’ at Istituto Secoli is a wonderful opportunity to explore with the students the new connections between tradition and modernity in the field of fabric decoration, exploring professional desires and expectations through the practice of a patient and rigorous technique and a constant exercise in creative research."

Barbara Santoro is a teacher in Patternmaking Womenswear. She has a degree from the Politecnico di Bari in Architectural and Construction Engineering and is an Istituto Secoli graduate as a womenswear patternmaker. While studying she has developed educational, professional and personal experiences all distinguished by an artistic/scientific focus. She has been teaching in the Istituto since 2022.

"In order to embark on an academic path with enthusiasm and passion, one must be immersed in a positive and motivating environment. My goal as a teacher is not only to transmit my knowledge in the most thorough way possible; but first and foremost to guide the students in acquiring a method that supports them in overcoming, with patience and resolve, the many challenges they will face first as students and later as professionals." 

Francesco Sciulli has been teaching in Istituto Secoli since 2022 as a teacher of sewing and prototyping. Graduated in 2010 in patternmaking and sewing for menswear and womenswear, he now has several years of experience in sewing for some of the biggest fashion brands, first as an external consultant and later as tailoring manager and lab quality technician. He currently is Head of Industrialisation for Valentino. 

“I like to teach in order to share the knowledge and skills I have acquired over the years, working for various companies in the sector, with my students. This way, I think I can help and accompany them on their path to professional fulfilment.”

Stefanella Sposito, graduated from the School of Fashion and Costume of the NUOVA ACCADEMIA di BELLE ARTI and specialized in Patternmaking for Women's Clothing at the ISTITUTO SECOLI in Milan, in Fabric Design at the ACCADEMIA DI COSTUME E DI MODA in Rome, and in Embroidery Techniques for Haute-Couture at the ECOLE DE BRODERIE D'ART F. LESAGE in Paris, she is currently an adjunct professor of History of Fashion and Design for Bachelor's degree courses at some of the most important universities in Milan.

She has been a tenured teacher at State Professional Institutes with Textile-Clothing Curriculum, as well as head of the Fashion Department at Istituto d'Istruzione Superiore Marelli-Dudovich in Milan. She collaborates with technical magazines to write articles on ancient and contemporary textiles. She is the author of essays and books translated into several languages and distributed internationally. Thanks to her many years of experience in the field of fashion and textiles, she participates in and organizes seminars, conferences and competitions on the subject and is at the forefront as a creator of projects, courses and exhibitions in the sector.

At Istituto Secoli she has been teaching History of Costume and Fashion since 2022.

"Sometimes all it takes is a word, sometimes an image, to open a world and trigger an association of ideas and thoughts to be cultivated with the precious gift of curiosity."

Angela Madesani is an art historian, independent curator and author of many manuscripts; amongst them are Images of a story. Italian black and white photography from the Rita and Riccardo Marone collection and Art’s intelligence published by Nomos Edizioni, The fluctuating icons and History of Photography published by Bruno Mondadori. She cooperates with the magazine Artribune and since 1997 has been teaching History of photography in IED – Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan. She has curated exhibitions in public and private institutions both Italian and foreign. Notably Utopie quotidiane at P.A.C. in Milan, the first edition of the Festival Europeo della Fotografia in Reggio Emilia and the exhibition Kaléidoskope d’Italie at CAN in Dudelange (Luxembourg) and in Biennale Donna in Ferrara. She is the Teacher of History and Critique of Contemporary Fashion in Istituto Secoli since 2022.

“I’m an art historian. I find it stimulating to exchange opinions with students who are studying fashion related subjects, and who will have a different perspective of what I will teach them.”

Sara Bonfitto is a lecturer in Computer Science. She is currently a research fellow in computer science at the University of Milan. During her studies and throughout her PhD, she has always put teaching first, helping several lecturers run part of their courses, giving various lectures and personally supervising students, also as a tutor. He has been teaching at Istituto Secoli since 2023.

"The greatest satisfaction of teaching for me is the moment when I realise that I have effectively communicated a concept; when the student gets passionate, asks questions and proposes solutions or personal suggestions. In those moments, I feel that my work has been done to the best of my ability.”

Giuliana Manfredi is a teacher in Knitting Technology. Graduated as a pattern maker at the Caterina da Siena Institute in Milan, she boasts many years of experience as Knitwear Laboratory Manager at the fashion and trend research studio -specifically for knitwear- Elementi Moda Srl in Milan. At Elementi Moda, she was also involved in knit stitch research, programming and production of machine samples. She has been teaching at Istituto Secoli since 2023.

"I worked for several years in knitwear, I love knitting and I hope to be able to pass on the same feeling to my students. I like the idea of transferring my knowledge and what I have learnt in the company, just as I am fascinated and intrigued to see what the imagination develops in the students when they realise what can be done: creating the fabric with a yarn is fabulous and even more so discovering the end result.”

Architect Enrico Fagone graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Politecnico di Milano in 1990. After working at the Design Department of the same university, he specialised in the field of design and automotive design in particular. He founded his own professional studio in 1993 and, parallel to his work as a designer, he has been involved in teaching as a lecturer and director at universities and training institutes in Italy and abroad. Author of essays and monographs, he has been a consultant in the car design sector since 2012 and is a member of the Permanent Design Observatory of the ADI, Association for Industrial Design. Since 2023 he has been the academic director of Istituto Secoli.

"The training model proposed by Istituto Secoli is centred on a close relationship with the business world and the professionals working in it. The resulting experience is embodied in the ability to manage all the different phases of the creative and design process in the field of fashion, combining the theoretical-critical approach with the technical and applicative procedures that are indispensable for each realisation."

Antonella Andriani since 2024 is Professor at Istituto Secoli of Basic Design and History of Design courses. Two Master's degrees, in Industrial Design at the Politecnico di Milano and in Eco-compatible Product Design at the Politecnico di Torino, and Postgraduate Diploma ASP - Alta Scuola Politecnica. Strategic Designer, since 2002 she has worked in international contexts to develop and enhance Italian design, ranging from product design to visual communication, from exhibition curatorship to exhibition design. From 1989 to 2002, she was a project manager in the Information & Communication Technology area working for top-level financial companies such as JPMorgan. Professor of Design at the Accademia di Belle Arti Statale di Verona, she has been teaching there since 2009 and coordinates the Department of Design and Applied Arts; since 2005 she has been teaching at the Design School of the Politecnico di Milano. Since 2020 he has been National Vice President ADI Associazione per il Disegno Industriale and member of the Board of Directors of the Fondazione ADI Collezione Compasso d'Oro.
