The 28th of October was the official date of the launch of the 'GLOCAL - MILAN MEETS GUADALAJARA' Capsule born as part of a pilot project that involved Istituto Secoli alongside the University of Guadalajara and promoted by a partnership also constituted by the Municipality of Milan, Government of Jalisco, Municipality of Guadalajara, Platform Formative Training System, BID (Inter-American Development Bank) and the Promoting Council of Innovation and Design of Guadalajara.
An initiative that aims to create an important synergy between the expertise of Italian industry and the wealth of local folklore of the Mexican city through collaboration in the genesis and development of a joint collection of transcultural fashion.
Milan and Guadalajara and their territorial systems, thanks to the commitment and work of four young fashion designers, they had the opportunity to meet and interact with an exchange of skills and sustainable practices in fashion. Representing Milan two Secoli female students involved Chiara Salviato and Ludovica Rossi; representing the Mexican city two students from the University of Guadalajara chosen, Griselda Mendoza and Joselyn De Maria Gonzalez.
The ‘GLOCAL – MILAN MEETS GUADALAJARA’ Capsule is a collection in which the aesthetics of Mexican popular culture blends with the dynamism of current reality. Two worlds that meet: the different materials are mixed for a proposal that expresses through the artisan fabrics in bright tones, the magic of the mysticism of the peoples of the South American city and, through technical fabrics, the futurist conception of the European city that is the undisputed capital of fashion system.
The next stop, after the extraordinary Italian debut, will be at the end of November in Mexico with a fashion show at the Andares exhibition space in Guadalajara.
