The Milan headquarters of Istituto Secoli, from 9 to 12 April, will host -during Design Week- the exhibition entitled “Garments as a Metamorphosis and fusion between body and matter”, a contamination between art, design and fashion, which brings together works and projects realised by young Secoli talents, for an authentic look at the creative process and craftsmanship that have always characterised the school's educational approach.
The event intends to give space to the dialogue between architecture, innovation and tailoring, celebrating experimentation and contamination between disciplines: on show will be a series of garments inspired by the concept of ‘transformation of metal,’ created by some of the Secoli designers in collaboration with Silvia Fanny's Fanny Art - an entrepreneur in the metalworking sector and a talented artist -. A meeting point between metalmechanics and fashion, at the basis of which dominates the process of transformation of the material, especially metal, which, inserted in special machine tools, produces in its essence two results: the object worked to design and the metal chip.
The exhibition will illustrate, in particular, the phases from conception to realisation of garments and design projects, focusing on patternmaking, tailoring and new technologies applied to fashion: an in-depth look at the phases of conception and realisation of a product, highlighting how stimuli and influences cross disciplines such as visual arts, fashion design, product design and new media.
During the meetings, Istituto Secoli students will be active protagonists, personally presenting their work to an interested public, encouraging an open discussion within the stimulating context of Design Week.
